Jan. 30, 2007 The 1st babies have arrived on the Mitchell Ranch. Bacon Bit had 5 gilts and 2 boars this afternoon. Mom and babies are all doing well.
Jan. 30, 2007 We went to pickup milk for the baby llamas today and
came home with milk and a brand new baby.
Here's a couple of Jen's older bottle babies- watch your fingers!
Jan. 2007: I never thought that I'd say this but we had to take Precious to the dentist. I didn't even realize that there were horse dentists until now. In December Precious had an abscess on her face. We worked with her for a couple of weeks and it wouldn't heal so Dr. Biggie (Feeder Creek Vet. Services)our veterinarian suggested that we take her to an equine dentist. We have been working with Dr. Jeff Reiswig of Equine Veterinary Dental Services for the past month.

Here's a picture of Precious with Trigger (her 2006 foal).
Step 1: Dr. Reiswig removed Precious' Baby teeth to allow her permanent teeth to grow.
Step 2: Precious' abscess was still not healing correctly so Dr. Reiswig took another x-ray. He found that one of her permanent had become infected and needed to be removed. Here is a picture of Precious' permanent tooth compared to the baby teeth that were removed in a previous visit.
We still have a long road to get Precious back to normal. We'll keep you updated on her condition.
Dr. Reiswig has done an excellent job caring for Precious and keeping us up to date with her treatment. We are very confident that she is getting the best dental care available. It is a pleasure to work with Dr. Reiswig.
Feb. 2007: Crush was allowed to spend a couple days in the house to
recuperate from his upper respiratory infection. I think he's getting a little to
comfortable!
Well at least the below zero days are good for something
"Donuts" on the pond......
Ice skating
(with skates if you're Tonto, with cowboy boots if you're the Lone Ranger".
Always remember to be nice because your younger siblings will get even sooner or later.
When there are hungry
piglets anything is fair game!
Mar. 2007: We'd like to introduce you to Vibrate. He's one of Bacon
Bit's babies who had some problems when he was about 3 weeks old. We brought him to the
house and set him on the kitchen floor. He was shaking so badly that he vibrated backwards
hence the name Vibrate. He is much better now, but the name has stuck. He'll make someone
a wonderful pet pig. Give us a call or email us if you would like to purchase Vibrate for
a pet. Yes, we keep him in the kitchen now and take him outside with us when it's nice,
BUT keep in mind he'll grow up to be 500-600 lbs.
Here's a picture of Vibrate waking up from his nap, one of him eating- his favorite part
of life, and if you rub his belly when he's done it's nap time. Do you see the green and
blue towel? He won't get off of it! He even gets upset when I try to take it to wash
it...... I think he's spoiled.
It's finally nice enough for the children to start riding horses outside. Here's Becky on Miss Kitty, Robert on Daisy, Becky on Gracie and Robert driving Miss Kitty. They are training these horses to ride and drive. They are listed on our For Sale page.
Precious had our first foal of the year. Princess was born on March 20, 2007. Both mom and baby are doing fine!
Here's Precious and Princess on her 1 month birthday.
Summer 2007:
There's nothing like some night fishing............
Tree frogs can stick to more than just trees!
Katie and Beck with a new heifer. I'll post her name later- I forget it and Beck is at
horse camp.
Looks like heifer riding is next on the agenda.
Nothing like a 4 year old show off. I need to make sure that he doesn't watch anymore
trick riders! They plant way too many ideas in his mind.
"Mom can I pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee keep Oreo in the house"?

Sept. 16 2007: The most
memorable day of the year!!!!
Bill and Carolyn
Bell (Michael & Bradley's grandparents)& Michael and Bradley Long all began a new
life this afternoon.... as Christians.
Each one accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and was baptized in our pond. Friends and
family all rejoice in their decision.
Bill was baptized by Dave Mason (Heath Church of Christ minister), Carolyn was baptized by
Jen Long (her daughter), Michael and Bradley were baptized by Bryan Long (their Dad).
Here are some
highlight of the day.........
Carolyn being baptized by Jen.

*Thank you Long family for allowing Robert to help bring Michael and Bradley out of the
water and into their new life. You "planted a seed" in our little boy's life!

Friends and family celebrating with Bill, Carolyn, Michael and Bradley.
Leslie, thanks for these precious memories of this "once in a lifetime" event!

The expression on Bradley's face says it all!

Friends are forever no matter where you are or what the age!

November 2007:
You don't need to travel to Africa to go on safari.......all you have to do is go to work if you are Josh our parts department manager!

December 2007:

Meet Oty. He's a 6 month old wallaby who loves to be in the house with us.

If you ever need a tree trimmed just give us a call and we'll end Oty and Dixie right over!
